View Full Version : Pre Amp Suggestions
For a long time I have been feeding my Temple Audio Monoblock's (with supercharger psu) via a Sonos connect and a Bushmaster MKII dac. Recently I have gone down the analogue route and bought an Audio Technica LPw50 turntable. I'm now looking for a Pre Amp that has two or more inputs. The Tisbury passive seems the obvious choice, I was wondering if their are any other options that I should consider keeping the cost inline with the other components in my system?
Thanks

Except that Khozmo only has 1 input so not much use for someone who wants 2 or more inputs
How about a Hypnotize DC B1 Jfet buffer with an MM phono stage using the Elliot Sound Products PCB and Burr Brown OPA2134 jfet audio opamps with 4 inputs. Built in 2019 by disarmamant (Martin)?
I've got this available if you are interested.

Musical Paradise MP 701 mkII is the ChiFi super versatile valve preamp.
I have one. Its great value for money. 3 line inputs, 2 sets of outputs.

Hi All,
Thanks for all your suggestions.
I think I'm going to try a Tisbury in the first instance for two reasons.
1. I can send it back if I don't like it.
2. Its British, and I like supporting small UK companies.

NVA would fit both ideals - I use one and have been very happy with it

Another to consider is the Schiit Preamp I found it very good.

Certainly enjoyed the schiit saga
How is schitt pronounced?

Same as the good old Anglo Saxon word s....t !
Who on earth thought that would be a good name for a product :) (although it has got me talking/thinking about it - perhaps "spunky speakers" would be a good one; meaning "lively" of course)

They have a sense of humour ...reading their manuals is hilarious
Tisbury passive preamp is now installed. So far I've not been able to hear it which is exactly what I wanted. I can now switch between my digital source and my new turntable. Loving the analogue sound, even my 40 year old albums sound better than I've ever heard them. Already thinking about a cartridge upgrade!
