View Full Version : What alternatives to Evox MMK?

I fancy replacing the "C2" amp section caps in my NAP180 as per acoustica mods which recommend 68uF >6V Evox MMK, which are no longer available.
Any recommendations for a suitably decent quality non-electrolytic alternative?

Im not familiar with the circuit on the NAP 180 but I am presuming its the feed back cap you are referring too.
If so I recommend a mil spec Wet Tantalum 68 or 82uf, even 100uf
A Vishay 136 or 138D would be nice, used to be made by Sprague

Thanks Alan- think that's likely what Les @ Avondale would suggest too. I'll have a look at Mouser...

IIRC Les used the Vishay Sprague Tantalex 150D for feedback. I'm not sure why, but I always assumed low leakage tants were favoured.

Thanks for the added information, Matt. Not ventured inside yet... Les already did the power section mods, I suspect I couldn't afford for him to do the rest at the time...
