I ate some food and streamed some TV from the US.
No change so far. :D
Sun continues to rise at the same time every morning. :lol:
Have noticed the price of butter has risen slightly.
But so far, so good. :)

Its a bank holiday today chief nothing much happening.
The weather is noticeably better. But that's because we can now take back control and use British Fahrenheit, instead of that nasty European Celsius.

It was cold, grey, foggy and depressing here. Seems apt, somehow...
I read that porn was pretty much the same although you may get a slight rise in some places...…,.

Most bananas don't come from Europe, so I guess it'll make no difference. The same can't be said of cucumbers :).

It is the students, and the younger generation I feel for.
Being part of Europe certainly widened my horizons enabling me to move here for work, something that I could not so easily do now.

On the first day of Brexit I wanted to buy something from a British company, then I realised I would have to deal with the customs, found the same thing in a German shop and ordered it from there. I should remember to avoid buying stuff from the UK in the future...

Guinness shut the Park Royal Brewery in Londinium in 2005, and all Guinness product sold in the UK comes from Dublin.
They do have a US brewery now.
Reminds me I need to go out and get some.
It's also brewed in Nigeria - and is very popular in Africa.
That's the Foreign Extra though, lots stronger. They brew that in Antigua too.
It's 7.5% ABV. What is the strength of the Dublin brew?

That was rather emphatic. I remember as a child Mackeson being described as a stout, is that so? Is Guinness a stout? I probably don't really need to know - I don't like Guinness, and I've never tried Mackeson.

I’m inclined to agree Cagey. Looking at the replacement legislation, almost every element of previous agreement has an alternative.
I bet the differences will be minimal on the whole, and once country to country trade agreements / duty exemptions are agreed as come into play, the differences will be negligible - except we’ll be able to govern fully our own agreements.
Mackeson is sweeter than guinness
As far as I remember, Mackeson is a "milk stout" so the lactose doesn't ferment with brewers yeast. This leads to a sweeter, yet "creamier" finish to the beer.
I have been quite getting into brewing "cream stout" at home during lockdown - much prefer my home-brew stout to Guinness, only really enjoyed Guiness in Dublin when we went to see U2, Eurythmics, Simple minds etc at Phoenix park back in the seventies? (memory is buggered :)), far superior to the pap sold in England at the time - Irish version had far more "burned wood" flavour.

yes it is and one of the originals i think.. my mother drank sweet heart stout, as doc said it would help with iron. she didnt like it tho :lol:

Cheers Grant - you have just bought back a memory; my mum told me that she was given Mackeson in hospital after giving birth to me - to help "replenish Iron" in her blood.
(sort of EU related as it was a British army hospital in Germany)
