Looking for a second deck to play some not the beast second hand lp`s I do not mind a project deck to refurbish
The choices so far are
1. Pioneer PL-12D Turntable.
2.AR EB101
3.Sony PS-T20
4.Bang & Olufsen Beogram 1200 Turntable
5.Pioneer PL-512
6.Rega p1,p2or p3
My max budget is £200 excluding cartridge.

Or any other recommendation`s please or does anyone have a hidden / forgotten deck that they want to get rid of

Regards Gerry

What is your first deck? Do you have a detachable head shell?
Can you fit a separate arm base to run a 2nd arm?

I'd have the PL-12D, simply because they just seem to go on forever and parts are easy to find. Dead easy to maintain and they sound OK too.

Rega. They work for ever and all parts are available, though it's rare for parts to be needed - just 3 drops of oil and a belt every 5 years or so. I have serviced a 1980s
Planar-3 this afternoon and that was all it needed plus a good ol' clean.

Not just that - they sound great.

Lenco GL75/76/78 - so tweak-able and parts are plenty

I'd agree with Dave

I would just buy a spare headshell and a suitable cartridge for the less than perfect records.
It is a quick swap.

Failing that, you need a second pbono stage or you will have to swap the cables.
Tbe mo ey saved could be spent on more vinyl.

From the list you gave, I’d go for the PL-12D or the AR EB-101.

The Beogram is, obviously, a very fine choice but do check out replacement stylus costs before you commit. The 1200 uses the older style of B&O cartridge in which the stylus can be separately replaced but they’re not cheap.

This Sony PS-X60 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SONY-PS-X60-Turntable/164272998252?hash=item263f6f076c:g:OD0AAOSwH-de~jee) looks good. Decent arm on it too.

Quite a long way off £200 though.
