It also comes with a front splitter, header pipes and a supercharger. Makes it into a street racer. :lol:

That looks really cool, but I think Lego have lost their way a bit - when I was a kid I could have built something similar (but with square wheels), then dismantled it and built a 2-bed bungalow

I know what you mean. This set makes one thing, a Mustang. It feasibly couldn't be used for much else as the parts are pretty much dedicated. The Technic stuff is much better.

When I was young all I did was LEGO, nothing else. I used the Technic sets to build all sorts of mechanical monstrosities. I once built a lorry chassis with four steering wheels and four fixed wheels, five differentials (including the central diff) for 8-wheel drive, a ratio box for the rearmost steering wheels to ensure the radius on turn was correct, and an 8 in-line engine all running from the centre differential with a correct one-at-a-time firing order (by creating two sets of cranks and using a ratio box to offset the firing crank angle). I was 12 at the time.

The flexibility of the parts have somewhat decreased nowadays. However, I loved building this set and LEGO have made their cash, so I guess as long as they're selling LEGO they're happy.

Children these days don't seem to want to solve problems or build things in the way that I did when I was a little'un. My son isn't even vaguely interested in LEGO; no patience at all. I had the patience of a saint at his age and would sit an work on things for hours to achieve the desired outcome.
