Yes I hadn't realised he was considered to have sold out as a jazz musician. Having said that I thought his James Bond theme was a bit of a sell out myself [emoji38]

Contrary to his ‘Uncle Tom’ tag,
He was outspoken towards the U.S and the civil rights atrocities.

Contrary to his ‘Uncle Tom’ tag,
He was outspoken towards the U.S and the civil rights atrocities.Indeed, it's a case of not just believing how he was branded by many. He did more than most, and in a way, deliberately damaged his standing as a musician to further the cause of equality. Not many superstars do that, they just kid on they do.
