View Full Version : Arm board for SL150 to take Linn sized PU3 arm??

I am awaiting delivery of my SL150 bought from Keith on this very forum, and looking forward to it I am! It has the popular and lovely SME3009/2 on already.:)
As a total novice with Techies, where can I get a board to mount a Linn type arm on? Do all Technics decks share the same armboard mounting? Can I make my own, as I have in the past with a template?
All these questions! Like I've never had sex before, I've only heard about it!:rolleyes:
I want to try out my PU3 before deciding whether I should sell it. Anyone tried a PU3 on a Technics deck? :scratch:

Personally, I'd give the SL-150 a whirl with the existing SME before anything else. It could be pretty decent, depending on cartridge of course.

Thanks Geoff- I'm not planning on ripping the SME off right away, not at all. Probably getting ahead of myself, in fact. Getting a bit excited, like Christmas come early :lol:
I've got a Goldring 1022GX to put on- checked the mass/resonance stuff- ought to be OK I think at 11Hz if I've done it correctly. Had it a while but not seen much use- fairly inoffensive cartridge.

The Goldring will be fine for now, but the SME can handle a decent MC if you fancied trying one with it at some time.

I had a lovely AT OC-7 several years ago. We were moving a room about and the cart had its cantilever ripped off when I bumped into the turntable! :doh: A bit "tits and ass" but very lovely I recall.
