SOLD DCB1 Turbo Passive Preamp. Built for a second system in the bedroom, this is now hardly being used, so it needs to find a new home!

I initially hand built this as a passive pre, leaving room to add a DCB1 board at a later date.
It is built into an aluminium enclosure which measures 280mm wide x 210mm deep x 60mm high (Excluding feet). The size was chosen to closely match a Quad 306 amplifier and FM4 tuner.

The chosen switched attenuator is a 10K Acoustic Dimension and the input switch is an Elma 04-1264 2-Pole, 6-Way. It is wired for 5 inputs and 1 output. (There is room on the back panel to add a 6th input, or additional outputs.

At a later date I purchased the DCB1 Turbo PCB fully built by Steve (STD350M), along with the 120VA toroidal transformer. Steve has set the board up to run at 600mA and I installed it as it arrived.

(It is possible to run this at 1.2A with some minor modifications and there are other component changes that can increase the performance). The case runs warm at 600mA, so I would not advise running it at 1.2A without additional heatsink considerations.

The 120VA toroidal transformer is in a separate plastic electrical box that can be hidden away.
Mains input is an IEC socket and a standard IEC mains lead is included.

There are many threads on the DCB1 on AOS, so I leave you to search and read the positive reviews from others.

This build owes me £450 in parts and I would like to sell it for that price, labour free, plus postage. I will not be reducing the price.

Fully insured shipping will be approximately £35 via DPD, or you can choose your own courier to collect at your risk. You can of course visit sunny Cornwall for a socially distanced collection.

Thanks for looking.

Agreed. Beautiful internal layout that would shame some more mainstream manufacturers.
