I’m looking for a pair of Berkeley’s if anyone has some they want to move on ..

Pair here below nothing to do with me just passing this on.

The seller refurbs Tannoys and sells them on and I think he repairs and re-foams drivers etc.

I've bought from him previously, he's a good seller, not Tannoys though.

BTW, there's another pair of Tannoys on PFM for sale with stone enclosures.

Remember, those are Mk.II and do not employ HPD drivers. They feature the later ceramic magnet driver, not the Alnico type. I actually like the Mk.II series drive units a lot.

Thanks Geoff. I've no idea about Tannoy and the different drivers, I've only ever heard one pair of old Tannoys (a member on here's) and they were amazing.

Anyway here's the other pair for sale for anyone interested.

The HPD and Gold equipped speakers fetch higher prices. At a guess, the later ceramic magnet speakers are worth maybe 20% less for equivalent models. Not that they are inferior though.

Frank Cookson is the only person I would let refoam my 15" signature drivers.

Buy from Cooky in complete confidence he is a great bloke and is outstanding at repairing and setting up these Tannoys.

Thanks for the reply’s guys .. I was also unaware of the ceramic magnet drivers ..... but I’m looking for the HPD’s

Good luck in your search Brian. Well worth persevering.

I managed to find a decent pair (HPDs) which with Paul C (at RFC) and loads of help from mickeyb and others transformed them from highly enjoyable to astounding.

Berkeleys now sold.
Personally I'm a big fan of the ceramic magnet K-Series drivers and prefer them to the HPD.
