View Full Version : Is anyone using aftermarket power cords on their Croft kits?

Hi All,
Newbie with Croft integrated & Harbeth P3XD.

I think I finally settled on my tube configuration:
Mullard Cv4004's for the phono & Fisher West German 12AX7 for the line,so
I purchased my gear from Gene Rubin and he mentioned the LFD power cord
as a noticeable upgrade... albeit a rather pricey one.

Just curious as to what others are using.

I use the same cord as I do to boil my kettle. Sounds amazing.

Shhhh. Keep quiet about that. As soon as word gets out that kettle leads sound so good everybody will want them. I wouldn't be without mine :).

If you want to splash out on an aftermarket power cord, just get a mark grant one and be done with it, no need to spend anymore or just use the one it came with.

Yep, good construction and materials I can justify to a point. The rest I can't.

The user tried the LFD, but prefers the stock cord once broken-in. How are the Harbeth P3esr XDs?

Spoil yourself, put another one on your Xmas list, then you'll be able to listen to music at the same time as boiling the kettle.

Your leads and cables touching each other and surfaces will have a greater (worse) effect on the sound, but Mark Grant's mains leads are excellent.

No harm in using an 'upgraded' cable so long as it doesn't cost a lot. Cables can be a complete rip off with massive margins.

The stock cable is Farnell, I believe.
