All I know about this amp is that it cost about £450+ back in the early 80's, and a limited number were made. Metal Chassis, with a wooden front panel in factory black.
The lid has a few surface marks...a quick flash over with a can of Halford's 2 pac and you'll be sorted. Looks like (possibly) a set of 4 Mosfets, big juicy toroidal transformer surrounded by some fat Philips capacitors. The main board looks simple, (ala Croft) and clear of burn marks or overheating. Nice thick PCB as well. Had it running solid for a week...was hoping to use the heat sink to fry my full English. No chance! Ran cool as a cucumber while Spotify was in a loop.
Connected to my MA 3's, this amp really delivers. Coupled to my Croft 25R, it was a pleasure to turn on and listen. Then I went through a phase of shall I or shan't I keep it... until reality kicked in. Again, I've already got a couple of "solid state" amps, so this is surplus to requirements.
Can be auditioned before this Thursday: I'm based in North London, Hornsey, otherwise I can post...UK only I'm afraid.
Price: IMO it's worth £200+ compared to some amps I've heard in that last 35 yrs... but hard to value as they seem to be pretty rare, so I'll settle for £175 which I think is a bargain!
