I wonder what the bass/mid drivers are? They look like Supravox. That would certainly be one of the names on the shortlist when looking for a very sensitive and very fast wideband driver to match with a plasma tweeter.

Are they remotely affordable?

I agree that they look fantastic and tick several of the requisite boxes I consider as mandatory. If I were in the market for a pair of modern hi-end speakers, they would definitely be on my shortlist!

Chris Hi, the 'Cubus' are expensive, rrp is Euros 50k but they are far more expensive than the rest of the range, Lansche used a pair this year in Munich and they were superb, they are superbly designed and exquisitely made.

It was the driver in the No. 4.1 that prompted my 'Supravox' remark. It looks like a Supravox 215-2000. However, I see that Lansche claim to have designed this driver themselves.

So go on then, scare me. How much is the No. 4.1?

There are several models that all looke extremely interesting. Fit and finish also appear to be superb, as one would expect. :)

Very nice. I have seen a few videos on youtube where people have built their own plasma tweeter, it seems the hot gas is modulated by the signal to produce the sound? I am not sure if I would be entirely happy having a couple of death rays in the lounge though! :lol:

The 4.1 has the 'active' plasma tweeter and active bass, you can use your amp of choice on the mid, rrp is £25k .

Hmm interesting stuff. This is the first commercial implementation of plasma tweeters I've ever seen. I remember hearing about them a number of years ago. This is also the first time I've seen them used with a wave guide in a more traditional way. All the plasma tweeters I've seen are omnidirectional point sources, (usually mounted on top of a speaker cabinet) which I guess have their own advantages and disadvantages. Either way it's very nice to see this technology put to good use in a commercial product and I'd be very interested to hear a pair. Not that I'd be able to afford any. :doh: They would certainly be a talking point when friends came round. No doubt one numpty would try to light a fag off the tweeter. :lol:

8mm Corona Plasma Tweeter in a horn

2" compression midrange in a 20" horn

18" composite coated paper cone woofer

Crossovers at 400 Hz and 2.5 kHz

Sensitivity of 95 dB/1W/1m

Nominal impedance 8 ohm

Range of 30 Hz to 150 kHz +/- 3dB

Weight 110 kg
