Has anyone here ever experimented with headwear while listening? We had a go one evening when "dazed and confused". We found that donning a cricket umpire's hat there was an effect akin to 'surround sound', giving a sense of being at a live gig.
We then tried a baseball cap worn backward, and this performed similarly, although I didn't stick with this for long as I became aware that I was looking like a right knob.
Lastly we tried a bobble hat, which certainly calmed the higher frequencies somewhat, but did make the overall sound a bit 'woolly'.
These were the only hats we had to hand, can anyone suggest others worth trying? As a cheap alternative to room treatments this could be worthwhile :)

 how about a miners helmet, might make the backround even blacker :D

I find a full face biking helmet doesn't really help.
I recommend trying a tight fitting turban if your system sounds shite..
Cowboy hat - you'll get the urge for some Country. Or Western. Or the Village People.
Or a homburg when listening to Procul Harum.
I like wearing an eye-patch and a pirate's costume.
Marco.
I like to wear an old-fashioned diving helmet filled with cotton wool when listening to anything by Genesis, or Mark Bolan. :sofa:
Yes, I move to that when someone plays Steely Dan!

I wonder what a purple helmet would evoke?:eyebrows:

Does velour elephant ears count as a “hat”?

Really draws the soundstage together.

I like this one - if the ears were hinged it could be tuned to the listener's taste. And I'm sure that trunk could be modified to give a hands-free beer drinking experience :)
I used to have an elephant hat like that. I'll never forget it.

Are you not worried about catching germs?

Oh you mucky pup! The model certainly seems happy with it though.
Any thoughts on hat choices Grant? You've probably more hats than albums :)

Perfect for R.E.M.

Rap always gets a bad rap. Is that why it's called rap?

I thought it was derived from some rhyming slang, as in "I'm going for a gangsta rap"

According to the fine liberals of Pinkfish I'm a fascist. I once sent them an industrial size bag of smelling salts, they ran out quickly. AOS is ace though, big up the AOS massive!
