I have been a reader in here for quite a while. I really like your tone and the quick access to your combined knowledge. I really get the feeling that you are a good bunch of dedicated and passionate people.
I have personally learned my lessons with SS, even high end gear; fatiguing sound with a dull sound stage followed by the admittance that I simply didn't connect to the music playing. I wasn't emotionally there.
Since I went from various high-end SS-gear to the lovely tubes I have felt less a need to rotate through new audio gear in search of excellence.
NB: Marco...I am seriously considering/looking at a pair of Majors here in Copenhagen set at Ģ2.500,- Do and donts?
Thanks for a great forum.:)

Hi Martin,
Welcome!
So what amps did you try before you settled on valves?

Thank you all very much. I will return with a write-up on previous amps.
Welcome to AoS Martin - nice kit! Any chance of some photos in the gallery sometime?
Would be interested in your choice of music - must say I'm struggling to think of any Danish music apart from Alphabeat and another pop band beginning and ending in "A"... ahem...;)
Enjoy the forum!

The Majors are now on their way to the test bench in my own home. They come equipped with a matched pair of the T.M. Golds - wow canīt wait. Lovely Formica OAK...bdwwrr!

Alex...we have tons of internatioanlly acclaimed music... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Danish_bands) Personally my favorites are D-A-D (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh2eqnnRYlI&feature=related), Gasolin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeRvJnfqA9o), Dizzy Mizz Lizzy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyyymeMQ06w), Saybia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k-3UVNLSIM&feature=related), TV2
But most of my vinyls are Jazz(70%), R&B, Classical and Instrumental. We have many Danish jazz musicians (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdG-COP7CUQ&feature=related). I could go on for hours.

Got the Majors in place...they sound great...great in every way. Its as if the whole wall or end of the room is covered in individual speakers; one for each singer, performer or instrument. Truly amazing but some relaxed and not overly analytical...good or bad....dont know yet. But I am certainly amazed and charmed by their sound.
Hi Martin,
We've already 'met' elsewhere on the forum, but a warm welcome to AOS :)
Gosh, I had no idea anyone else would buy my favourite 'rabbit hutches'!
Joking aside, I'm glad the Lockwoods are hitting the spot. Are you using the original crossovers with the Monitor Golds?
Marco.
