I've just bought myself a Copland CTA-402 Amplifier but I don't have, nor can I find online a copy of the manual.

This means I don't know how to bias the valves, or even if it's autobias.

I'd be happy to supply a few record / beer tokens if somebody has a manual that they'd be happy to copy for me.

Thanks,

Mike

I don't have an actual manual, but I do have bias instructions that I copied from the manual. Send me a PM or email ,and I'll send it to you.

I had a look in hifi-manuals but it wasn't listed there, it looks like you may be sorted now though.

Anyway here's the link if anyone doesn't know of the site.

Still looking for a manual, as I can't find out, definitively, what the valve complement is.

Have you contacted Absolute Sounds (https://www.absolutesounds.com/), who are listed as the Copland distributers in the uk?

Don't you just hate companies that don't respond when they are contacted?

I usually look for alternative means of contact if there is not a number available on their website, but either way, it's their responsibility to provide customer service.

Chase them for a response. They are the people who can contact Copland direct on your behalf.

Did you ever find a manual? I've just picked one up and I'm looking for a manual too! I'm sure Shergar would have been easier to find...

You lot don't look very hard do you?

There are two pots for each channel, one for each output valve. Circuit shows 450mV across the cathode resistor as the correct setting.

Valve lineup ECC83 x2, ECC82, EL34 x2 per channel.

I have the full schematics already, I should have made it clearer that I wanted the instruction manual (if there was one) to go with the unit. The schematics are no good to me as I won't be touching anything electrical until I'm shown. Wiring a plug is my ability level at the minute! Ha

No worries it is quite simple to measure and adjust the bias..
