Miss my LCD3s shouldn't have sold them so I'm after something similar.
Have owned Hifiman 400,500,400i,560 so got that T shirt, wouldn't mind trying their later ones with the oval cups though. Audeze/Oppo also an option. WHYG?

I think I saw them at the time, I'm thinking more along the lines of the 2-4 level (ok 4 might be a dream but then nothing wrong with dreaming!).
Some interesting ones on AV forums but can't seem to find a good review of them.

I've got a pair of LCD-XC in excellent condition that I'm willing to sell, but would want £700 for them.

(I'm assuming the C means closed rather than classic?)

Can highly recommend Mr Speakers Ether 2's. I have a pair and they are excellent.

I've already got a pair of Fostex T20RPs if they're the ones based on those drivers? Do like them but want more air/soundstage. Also tried the Dekoni Blue. I'll investigate further.

Hmm. Just wondering if I should dig out my old Yamaha HP-1 planar headphones. They were a bit sought after at one time, no idea now, I do recall the sound being something like a cross between my Wharfedale Isodynamics and my Sony ECR-400 electrostatics. Would there be any interest in them these days?

I'll have a rummage. I've not used them for a year or two and they're in one of my many boxes of kit :).
There are actually two pairs, tidy ones and scruffy ones kept for spares.
Cheers mate

Sorry Lawrence I’ve just realised that this was on your wanted thread . Should Geoff decide to sell and you don’t buy then I would be interested.

Coincidentally, I've unearthed my Yamaha HP-1 'Orthodynamic' planar headphones. If you're still interested Lawrence, I'll rig things up so I can test them. There's one good set and a scruffy spare pair, both working as I recall. These are rare now (always were :)).
good can even today especially if your a bass man

Yes please, let me know how you get on, I was always intrigued by these, before the whole planar thing kicked off again.

Early days but they have a very nice balanced sound with a rolled off treble and decent bass. The opposite of what most headphones of that vintage sounded and more to my taste.
On the downside the capsules are a bit small compared to my Sennheisers and the frames are a bit creaky so they'll be an occasional pair rather than a new main pair.
