So I actually don't have a system......which is what brought me here.
I moved from Quebec to Manitoba almost 30 years ago and unfortunately the first thing to sell was my stereo. (let's see if I can remember Nikko amp/pre amp, ADC equalizer, Denon cassette deck and I think CD player was also Denon, Cerwin Vega speakers, and one of those upright Mitsubishi turntables......picked it up in 1982)
All I brought west with me was a 2nd turntable which has been in a box in the basement since 1992 and a little over 2000 albums. I've been staring at my records for a few decades now but life, kids, other obligations always got in the way.
I'm now in a position where I want to build a new system. Reading some of the posts here, I think I am way out of my league but figure I'll get some good sound advice. I want to build a system for my vinyl especially, but I've also amassed a few terabytes of downloaded Flac files....which is my typical source at the present...so wanting to build a system for both.
I'm not sure which Board would be best to post a discussion along these lines so I'll hold off for feedback. Anyway, looking forward to learning/exploring options with you. (I have some ideas to date)

Ps. Music wise I have a wide variety of tastes. Classic rock, Blues, and Reggae would be my base, but I listen to almost exclusively classical at work, love jazz, and lately have been exploring what I would class as World music. (Tinariwen, Debashish, Baaba Maal & Mansour Seck......then there is my all time favorite from Folkfest Xavier Rudd.......and then there is my "weird music" (as per my kids) Shpongle, Entheogenic, Ott
