Does anyone know if the new SL1000R (SP10) Tonearm is a straight drop in for the vintage EPA 500 Technics armbase cut out ??

Also, does the armboard aspect detach from the new armbase ?? and is the vta turn ring circumference dimensions the same ??

Below is the vintage EPA 500 tonearm base as seen on my SP10 and below that is the current Technics SL1000R(SP10) tonearm/tonearm base offering.

According to vinylengine.com, the arm pivot to turntable spigot distance for the EPA 500 arm is 235mm, whereas according the Technics website, the same distance for the new tone arm is 239mm. Yet both arms have the same overhang (15mm) and offset angle (21 degree).
