Hi,

Here are some photos of my BBC Studio Monitors with Chartwell Swisstone 8 Ohm drivers any info?

Also one tweeter is not working any good repair centres in SW London area, or wider area if not?

Do they use the Celestion HF1300? The middle one looks like an HF1300 and the upper is likely to be a Coles unit, although it may be an HF2000. A front view would help.

It is unlikely that a repairer would take on these drive units as genuine new parts are no longer made. Used replacements can be found on ebay, but the HF2000 is getting pricey. You also have to make sure you get the correct version.

That's a heck of a transformer on what is presumably the bass section. Nobody uses stuff like that anymore.

But really, Jason, as people are saying we can't help you without a front view of the drivers. But definately fixable. I know Chartwell, Dalesford, Celestion, Coles and all those other drivers.

It's an autotransformer to allow sensitivity adjustment.

I came very close to buying a pair of the Rogers BBC Studio Monitors, but held out for a pair of Quad ESLs.

If it's a blown Celestion HF1300, make sure you get a 16 Ohm version.

I presume that the Chartwell bass units are replacements for the originals, probably a good choice.

Should be nice speakers when sorted.

Nice speakers, which look very similar to a Rogers Export Monitor which used a similar transformer crossover.
But instead of the pressed steel Dalesford driver, these cast alloy bass drivers look near identical to the unit used in the later Rogers Studio 1. Given that Rogers bought Chartwell and Swisstone is the company who owned the Rogers name, tjese may well be what was fitted originally. If not they are certainly superior to the Dalesford unit.
These are as close as you will get to a set of Rogers LS3/6. I have heard the export monitor, studio 1 and Graham Audio 3/6 within 24 hours and the differences were trivial
