Well there's nothing really noteworthy going on, so I guess nobody feels inspired to talk about it :).
Last I looked it was bright and the temperature 14C. Unremarkable and suits me OK. No doubt it will warm up a bit during the day.
We are entering the time of year when some areas can be hit by heavy rain, so maybe we have floods on the way :eek:.

At least it's not raining here today. It looks as though it'll get wetter again tonight. Temperature - bearable.
Tuesday afternoon was really sunny and warm for a while - though that was further south than here - on a drive back from Edinburgh. Am I imagining that the weather has been quite bad this year? Is there any part of these shores which has reasonably good weather most of the time?
Depends partly also on what one might mean by "reasonably good", and if you like seasons. Is a winter without snow good or not? Is a summer with a lot of sun good, or just too hot?

But of a dull start, which I think will be the theme for the rest of the day, but from tomorrow onwards it should be excellent!:yay:

It's bright here and warming up after a pretty cool start. I'll be taking a gentle stroll round the block with the pooch in a minute. Then I have to mend the garage side door and cut the grass.
Been a gorgeous day here since first thing this morning. Currently 19C, sunny and blue skies... Tomorrow and Monday are set to be the best days, weather-wise, with London and the south set for temps of near 30C!
Been working in the garden all day, clearing a mountain of dead leaves and twigs from the back and preparing the area in question for some raised beds to grow more produce, in the drive to become evermore self-sufficient!:)
BBQ tonight, as I've got a nice piece of Entrecote to cook:cool:

Similar here, lovely blue skies must be twenty something (I don't have a thermometer); cleared greenhouse, cleaned patio and got fire bowl ready for evening of drinking and eating with a couple of friends - two legs of lamb marinated overnight in Moroccan spices, homemade flat breads (Cherry Bakewell for afters), My wife has been very busy in the kitchen today :)

thursday and friday look to be quite nice up here. be nice to get 2 days with a little sun.

forecast here is sunny all day, high of 18c. Same for tomorrow and Saturday. It's not doing much at the moment though.
The rain is back on Tuesday.
Been a beautiful day here in sunny Wrexham, currently 21C with just a nice gentle breeze - perfect!:)
Will be having a BBQ later, got some fresh sea-bream, so will be coating it with a fresh lime, ginger and coriander butter,, then char-grilling it and serving it with some spicy noodles - yum!:cool:

i saw a TV programme the other day about a pawn shop in Las Vegas, where they were considering buying a Sherman tank for $1.5 million. Gun worked and everything. one of them would do :)

It's been pretty good in my area (Suffolk), rain was less than average and when it has rained it has been mostly overnight or just one day, certainly better than last year. May was record breaking month for sunniest month on record. Only problem was it was too hot at times and long spells with no rain.

Actually, to my surprise, today was lovely, and I spent a while pruning bushes in the garden, then taking the cuttings to be disposed of. It's possible we might have a run of good days now.

Had some rain at last, heavy burst about 9pm last night, over last the day 2 days we've had around 9mm, before that no rain for 20 days, still only around 15mm for September when the average is 60mm but looks like tomorrow is now going to be wet. Waterbutts are full up now so thats ok until next spring.

Strange day; cold start and very dark - I thought that it was going to be stormy. Now blue skies, white fluffy clouds and sunny, but still cold

Not that cold overnight here but I'm near the sea. Sunny day about 15C, fairly windy though which will get worse tomorrow, forecast is not good now.
Only just gone 1900 and I'm putting the light on. Although it is a bit murky outside.
Just 6 more weeks and it's the start of perpetual darkness.
Does seem to have been a long summer for once, suppose it was having all that good weather March through May.

Just seems a long summer because it hasn't been punctuated by anything interesting happening. Just a long slog of disappointments and general dreariness. Oh and a fair bit of sunshine...
I suppose it's no different with your job but it was all change for me with the working from home thing. I've had to develop a whole new series of routines after 14 years of groundhog day.
Best thing is I won't have to get up in the dark when we get into December. That always pisses me off. It's like having to get up and go to work in the middle of the night.
Just count the days until you retire, mate - best thing ever... Work is HUGELY overrated!!:D

No this working from home lark is great. Takes the whole pain in the arse element out of it. I could carry on indefinitely. It's like being retired except you have something to occupy your time during the day that doesn't cost you any money.
I put a claim in for tax refund for expenses incurred in my 'home office.' £312. I'll see how that goes. Mind you HMRC hang onto the money like their balls so I'm not massively hopefully.

Given "lockdown" and all the associated lack of activity I have been grateful that I live in a village, have a garden and the weather has been excellent this year - just think how depressing it would have been if we had had a cool wet summer :)

Sounds good, but every job takes longer than normal, as manufacturers with reduced staff (to comply with social distancing) cause longer and unpredictable lead times.
This means jobs booked for a certain date often have to be re-scheduled, but not easy to find them a new fitting date when your diary is fully booked until end of November. The people who supply my windows and doors cannot cope with the sudden increased demand, and so this week they have 'shut up shop' temporarily.
So I'm working six day weeks to try and keep up.
The only good thing of the last six months has been the quieter roads, making getting to, from and between jobs easier. But now that schools and colleges are re-opening, and bus travel is being discouraged, the roads have never been busier :steam:
Not that I'm complaining or anything :)

Thats strange, I thought you would have got a packet as its coming down from the north, now 2.25 inches. Think this is the most rain we've had since I moved here 6 years ago.

Not checked the temperature, but it seems less chilly. Probably 'cos we now have cloud cover and the wind has died down. I expect that means rain is coming.
Absolutely foul the past couple of days - fence down in the gales (luckily the neighbour’s boundary and looks like it has been hanging on by the skin of its teeth for a while) and didn’t stop raining at all yesterday. Hoping tomorrow is a little better as hoping to go to an American car show in the village and ogle some Mustangs etc. :)

Frost on the car yesterday morning, actual ice this morning. But cloudless sky and no wind. Still some heat in that sun, even at this time :) One thing with the chilly mornings, the air doesn't hold much moisture. So could see the Scafell range in Lake District from down here, clear as anything, and that's got to be 70 miles away.
Yup - 3 here. Lovely blue sky and sunny tho. Guess you can have that and cold or dark and moist

The awful weather continues, cool, wet and windy, nearly 4 inches of rain in the 4 days. Tomorrow is looking cloudy but dry.
Yesterdays rain has gone and only a few clouds in the sky, still windy though. About 12 degrees.
Then clocks have gone forward and it is now spring :eyebrows:
Nice dry, bright day here, but chilly, at so far 5C.

Quite a pleasant autumn day - sun breaks through cloud every now and then. We haven't had much rain here recently (unlike the north of the county)
Wet here too. Since heating is back on a lot, the humidity is getting low indoors, so the humidifier is back.
Helps a lot and will auto start stop to setting level you set. Also ionizes.

How low does your humidity get Grant?
Lowest I have measured in my living room is 49% - currently 59% but very damp outside today. Yesterday was at 50%.
usually can drop to 30 or so if not checked. temp and humidity are linked of course and the right humidity/ temp range can for instance reduce flu transmission etc. around 50 is probably the area to hit, but as long as its in the 40 to 60 range. I prefer it near 55%, as my nasal passages are screwed

colder up here so heating is on more.. was better when used coal in last house. the gas radiators do dry your air too much

Was reasonably mild. Got the car part waxed between drizzle showers, been brushing mud out of wheel arches etc, so I can do more rust prevention. Need to treat door cavities this year.

Feels like a deluge here today. Scheduled to go on until after lunch, when it might clear. The outlook for tomorrow doesn't look too much better.
Somewhat miserable!
After pishing down for most of yesterday, it's a nice dry and sunny start to the day, and not too cold at 10C, with highs expected later of 13/14C.
However, that's as good as it'll get for a while, as for the rest of the week (especially Saturday) and into next week , it's rain rain, RAIN!
