I have just found a pair of these amplifier modules and a matching pair of 50VA square frame transformers whilst clearing out some old boxes.

For those who do not know these, they are a 30W @ 8 ohm Bipolar amp module permanently fitted (potted) to an aluminium heat sink.

Data Sheet (http://www.ilpelectronics.com/support/docs/HY30P.HY60.HY6060.PDF)

I would like £40 for both modules and transformers including postage in UK.

I would also swap them for a nice interconnect.:)

Did you ever try them?

No I havent.

I did try the 120 watt versions some years ago. Similar to the Maplin 150W mosfets, but probably a little warmer in the bottom end from what I remember.

Ooooh HY60s :)

Take it from me that they sound pretty good ;) I used 8 of the things to power these active speakers here (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showpost.php?p=140792&postcount=1), you can see a couple sitting on top of the speaker (scroll down).

These will deliver 60W RMS into 4ohms given enough supply current, hense the HY60 ;)

Unfortunately i blew two up powering a friends sub that happened to be 4 ohm (the two amps were bridged) so the poor things saw a 2ohm load & they were pushed :eyebrows: The first thing i knew was a load of smoke pouring from the wiring after they shorted out, the fuses didn't pop so the insulation melted  What a stink

Great sounding little amps imo :)

If i didn't have so many kicking about i'd have them myself :trust:

Hello there Ian,
It's nice to see that you landed here on the Art of Sound. It's a bit of a requirement to introduce yourself to the community by sticking a post in the welcome area before you get too carried away with anything else. We're all very friendly here!
So if you could nip over there & tell us a little about yourself & your system, your taste in music and roughly where you are in the world, that would be great.

Cheers
