Hi I'm Jason,

Amateur musician, into music 1964-1974

Please can anyone tell me more about these Rogers BBC Studio Monitors with Chartwell Swisstone 8 Ohm drivers, are they correct?

I suspect that the bass units may not be original, but the best that Rogers / Chartwell could provide. However, I expect that the speakers will sound very good.

I have a similar pair, but replacement bass units are Dalesford, this effectively makes them pretty well identical to early Rogers Export Monitors.

The Rogers Studio Monitor, LS3/6, Spendor BC1, and Rogers Export models are all related.

Its possible the drivers may have been swapped for the later swisstone branded units fitted to the Studio 1. They look pretty similar from the front but have a chunkier 4 arm alloy basket instead of the pressed steel dalesford unit.

I believe that the original bass units were marked 15 Ohm.

Just start a new thread, You'll see the facility at the top of the Past Masters page. Duplicating what you've written about the Rogers in this thread won't hurt.
