Hi all, my name's Ian & I live in South Manchester. My musical tastes like mainly in the 70s/80s with a few honourable exceptions! I'm no audiophile, just having a NAD amp with a Technics turntable, Marantz cd & Tannoy speakers. However a good family friend has been collecting audio equipment for 40+ years & unfortunately got MS a few years ago, having been a heart surgeon for many years. His collection is frankly ridiculous & he recently asked me if I could help him start getting rid of some, he has items from the 60s through to the 80s/90s. I have sold some through ebay but I thought it may be better to seek out people with a similar passion to him. Please let me know if this isn't allowed on the forum as I don't want to ruffle any feathers but it would be great to see things go to fellow enthusiasts, though he is fully aware of the values of what he has :lol:
As this is my 1st post I haven't worked out how to out photos on, I've been learning an awful lot about valve amps etc but have really enjoyed the process & hope I can pick up even more information from people on here!

Hello Ian,

I'm fairly new on here as well but it's a great forum. Sounds like you've got a decent enough system to me, you only had to mention Tannoys... I'm sure someone else will give you advice about selling, but I can help you out with image posting. Have a look at;

https://postimages.org

It's free and works very well.

Thanks very much, I appreciate your help! The system does me fine, I've brought loads of quads, Leeks, a Beam Echo, Radford & Harman Kardon back here to test & I honestly can't tell the difference :lol: I put it down to years of wrecking my ears at gigs! I'll have a look at that link tomorrow, thanks again for your help!

Hi Ian. Welcome to AOS.

I'm sure we can help your friend to move on some equipment. At least there are no fees here and things tend to sell well.

You'll need five posts before your PM's (personal messages) activate and you can then communicate with potential buyers confidentially.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

You ought to be able to list your friend's unwanted audio gear here in 'Private Exhibitions'. Please acquaint yourself with the Rules for Selling: https://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?41128-PLEASE-READ!-Current-rules-for-selling-in-private-classifieds-(please-read) before you post.

If you have any problems with posting images, any of the Moderators will be able to help you out. https://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?63927-Photos-With-Adverts-Mandatory-Requirements!

What are your tastes in music?

Enjoy the Forum
