WTD Sony ES 5 or 7 series CD Player

I have a Sony TA-F707es which was fettled for me by a very kind Mike P who did such a good job I am now on the look out for a matching CD Player

So preferably looking at the 7 series 707, 777,779,77 and but will consider the 5 series 505, 557,and 559

I would like the wooden sides and remote

A sony cdp-337esd is (I believe) quite close to a 557 - they share the same mech and laser (kss190a). The laser is fairly unobtainable with the last ebay listing I saw for a kss190a at around 400-500 euros - pretty much indicates how well these machines are regarded and the laser was shared used in accuphase players too.

I've got a 557 and it's a brilliant machine not just for the music it produces but also for its mechanical operation and build quality.

The 337 is not far behind if not evenly comparable with a 557 - mike p is well versed on both and could advise on nuances.
