A pair of 15" Tannoy Mansfields in very good condition.

I bought these from Frank Cook (Cooky) a couple of years ago. Frank had replaced the surrounds so you know they've been done correctly.

The Mansfields have 15" HPD 385 drivers in them. Serial numbers are 207784 & 207788 so undoubtedly the drivers which were build in to the cabinets in the Tannoy factory in April 1975 - the labels on the rear of the cabinets confirm this and match with the serial numbers.

The cabinets are in very good condition. I had the cabinets cleaned up by a friend who's a furniture restorer. There are a couple of very small marks on the cabinets but nothing you'd notice unless you inspect them very closely.

The cabinets are infinite baffle type and are 79cm high, 53.5cm wide and 32cm deep. These cabinets are not your usual flimsy Tannoy construction, these are very well made and heavy, each speaker weighs 30kg.

The original plinths raise these off the floor a further 6cm. I had 2 additional sets of plinths made from a lovely 1970's sideboard that I bought so match the cabinets pretty much perfectly. One set raises the height 20cm (plus feet height of your choice) and the other raises them 33cm (plus feet height of your choice). The new plinths weigh 4kg and 7kg each so add a fair bit of mass to the cabinets.

The crossovers have all the original components in them with the exception of the binding posts which I've replaced. I still have the shoddy original ones if you really really must have them.

I played around with various manufacturers caps and resistors in the crossovers but have returned them to their original components for the new owner.

These are definitely collection only, there's no way I am crating these for shipping! I would also like the new owner to hear these working and satisfy themselves that they are in the condition I have described.

I am in Kilmarnock which is just south of Glasgow.

Price is £2000.

I have a pair of these, lovely speakers. Plinths look great, I have bamboo chopping blocks with Superspikes under mine, since I only wanted to raise them a bit.

Good luck with the sale.
