A friend has damaged his PMC - DB1 bass/mid. drive units.
They’re now open circuit.
He can’t get replacement Vifa drivers ( original fitment ) and PMC want a small fortune for a pair of
Volt Drivers.
Wembley Loudspeakers cannot replace the voice coils and I can’t find anyone else to do the job.
Do any Forum members know of a company who could do the work ?
You would think that a country such as we live in someone would have the expertise...
But then, the majority of drive units are made overseas.
Mainly in China.

Martyn, here are a couple of suggestions:
1) You could ask Paul Coupe at RFC in Dursley

2) You could try asking Steve Phillips at SP Acoustics in Stroud . Steve used to design for ATC & AE, but now works as a consultant for Kurt Mueller the big OEM driver manufacturer. He also makes his own SP Acoustics studio monitors, who have had great reviews in the Pro and Hi-Fi press. If he can't do it himself, he would certainly who could.

Are the Volt drivers an exclusive design for PMC? If not they must be available, perhaps Wilmslow.

Thanks ‘TopOxfordDoc/Charlie’
No joy with SD.
The original drivers were Vifa and PMC’s replacements are Volt.
Very expensive !
I tried Neil at Wilmslow, but no luck.
Hence the repair path...

Recone Labs may be able to help but it looks like they're not accepting new jobs currently. https://www.ratechnology.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page&id=7&chapter=0
There is one other company that I know for a fact can do it but I will not name them as they made a complete pig's ear of making a new coil for a drive unit of mine. They also quoted me 6 weeks and I only received the drive unit back after more than a year thanks to threats of legal action. I know of plenty of other people who have had bad experiences with them, as well.

Wembley? They ruined my b110 and took forever.
