Modern/current production tonearm for Decca Supergold

Although it still sounds great I’m pretty sure my Supergold is not performing at its best in the Jelco TK850s so I’m contemplating a new arm for it (maybe even a new TT). I know the Hadcocks, Graham’s and FR’s are recommended but they are really hard to get. Any recommendations for a suitable currently available one that won’t break the bank?

For many years, I was using an original, fluid damped Mission 774 with Decca London cartridges. It sounded wonderful, better than any of the Japanese arms I tried.

I still have the 774 (one of three) sitting here doing nothing currently, If it's of interest. It had the headblock drilled through to accommodate the Decca London mount.

I would recommend any of the following:

Mission 774 (with the damping dashpot)
Hadcock 228 (with the 'fishing rod' weight bias compensator)
Infinity 'Black Widow' Mk.II (also with a damping dashpot)
Ultracraft AC300 (unipivot)

and

Any of the 3000 Series SME arms, but use a heavy headshell (with the FD200 damping dashpot fitted).

There is also the Decca International (with the metal headshell, not the later plastic one with the bubble level), but these are becoming hard to find and thus expensive.

Suggest you look at the Decca London Club thread on Lenco Heaven...you will find there is some value to a heavy arm with any of the Deccas...
