Walked down to local shops then back through the park, first stroll I've had in a long time.

I see that it is Harold Godwinson's old manor; as in the Harold who caught an arrow in the eye at the battle of Hastings.

If he had been wearing a faceshield things might have turned out differently. :D

Well he did have a safety helmet on, just luck of the draw I suppose.

They don't reckon he ever visited the area

Must be great to have a big park like that so close. All we've got is a bit of scrubland next to the Sainsburys. And that's fenced off.

Well yeah, he was too busy chasing round the country fending off invasions. Poor bloke didn't get five minutes to himself.

It's a very pleasant shortcut back from the shops but there's an even bigger country park even closer to me. It doesn't really show on the map but 'Dagnam Park' stretches all the way to the M25 & there's actually a foot tunnel under the motorway if you want to venture further.

Thanks Brian, it's only an iphone XR but I have been impressed with the quality of pics it produces & the onboard photo editing software is pretty good to.

We use the Miller & Carter restaurant near Hainault forest on occasions (or used to :( ).

A pic of the A12? What bit?

Hainault Forest features as a location in a lot of episodes of 'The Professionals'.

Well they did both drive 3 litre Capris, appropriate for the area.

He's already done the bodywork and still needs ten grand? You could build one from scratch for that!

The A12 is more or less a motorway masquerading as an A road from the point pictured.

Gets you to some interesting places though, like Ipswich? No, you're right, tedious.
