Hi all.
Due to a move around with my system, I need something to go under the carpet. Never used flat stuff before.
Can anyone recommend a decently priced speaker cable? Nothing like Nordhost, they are bonkers money.
I'd need a 8m pair with spades if possible.
Currently running 2x 4mm Van Damme Black. x2 cable runs per speaker, which averages 8AWG.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jo

Depends what you call “decently priced”
QED micro or chord Sarsen are both pretty unobtrusive & would be ok under a carpet even though they are cylindrical, not flat.
Further up the chain, TelluriumQ blue is flat & I think Audioquest also do some flat stuff.
Avondale Blacklink is a really thin profile but not sure if that’s only 2nd hand now? I liked it though.

I haven't tried this particular cable Josie , but I have tried several Fisual speaker cables and they're very good for the money .
This comapny are also very good to deal with .
You could consider figure of eight, thinner than cylindrical.

Electrofluids monolith 20/20
You can get it for good price
The DNM Resolution or Precision 2 are a very flat profile
Available with spades.

I use Rega Quattro. Still available from some suppliers on eBay. It just tears down the middle if you’re not bi wiring.
Decent flat copper cable. No complaints here.
Not flat, but thin as a shoelace, sounds wonderful And fits under carpet...
Duelund 16Ga cable, best speaker cable I’ve heard in my system

Under 9 quid a meter, and no need for connectors, sounds best used bare wire connection.

Great.
Thanks guys, some things to look in to there. Although finding 8m lengths of used cable would be pretty difficult, I'll take a look around. I also think TQ would be out of my price range for the moment too.
Any other suggestions would be always appreciated.

Ortofon if you can track any down. The grey is about the most economical whilst maintaining good sonic balance.

Agreed - and you can bi-wire the speakers if that option is available to you.
