Good afternoon all. Dan from sunny North Yorkshire (UK)

Having put my set up in storage prior to a house move (Synology NAS -> Logitech Duet + Beresford Bushmaster mk1/Cambridge Audio Discmagic + S700 Isomagic -> Cyrus 8vs2 -> IPL Acoustics M1TLm (transmission line kit floorstanders)) it has criminally ended up staying there for the past 6 years. The new house had no "listening room" shall we say and I've not bothered to sort it following our second child arriving not long after moving in.

So I started my journey into headphones using my NAS drive -> PC (Gigabyte motherboard with Coax digital out, 3rd gen i5, SSD, 8GB RAM, AMD R9 290) -> Bushmaster mk1 -> AKG K701/Senn HD598CS. I have been really happy with the headphone setup and had a firmware update installed by Stan Beresford on the Bushmaster. I also bought a cheap linear power supply recommended by Stan as well.

Now looking for a little more out of it and found AoS whilst looking for potential Bushmaster upgrades.

I generally listen to anything. From pop through to orchestral. Rock probably being my most listened to genre and most recently (and bizarrely) movie soundtracks. My music collection is stored in FLAC format and I often listen to Spotify (paid subscription).

Looking forward to the journey...........

Welcome to AoS Daniel.

Nothing wrong with listening to movie soundtracks - I enjoy the compositions by John Barry, Vangelis, Bernard Herman and Ennio Morricone, but don't get on with those of John Williams.

Enjoy the Forum

Thank you for the welcome Barry.

I'm currently working my way through Hans Zimmer's extensive back catalogue.

Hans Florian Zimmer now that's a name to conjour with, Interstellar would probably be my personal favourite.

Oh! and welcome Dan

Interstellar is excellent as is Inception.

Thank you Andy. Lancs/North Yorks border? Whereabouts?

Hi Dan

Out on the moor between Hebden Bridge and Burnley, I noticed you were fairly local.

Just up the hill then. And I thought the winter weather was bad where we are!

It'll be winter by then. I might need snow chains! [emoji1787] Sounds good though.

Lol I will pick you up in Hebden mate it's not a problem although the 650 foot climb in 2 miles can be interesting when it's snowed, but no problem I have a forester.

We did a kitchen job up Hardcastle Crags a couple of years ago. Through the National Trust car park and on up the hill. Very interesting delivering the granite worktops in a rear wheel drive van in the snow.
