Noticed a advert for a rather nice lathe , Do I need it NO I don't , Did I buy it yes I did :D

A all day job collecting this. 4 men loaded it in my camper van ,

And 1 man unloaded it all on his own , ME :eek: Stand and lathe , The lathe weighs 220KGS :eek:

Had to make a transport trolly with 2 x fixed and 2 x steering casters

Managed to move the stand using by sack barrow and yes it was bloody heavy also

Indeed it is Grant , It's a Vicmark VL175 full electronic variable speed with a rotation headstock , Position one is in line with the bed , Position 2 is 30 degree offset for hollowing , makes things easier , Position 3 is 90 degrees to the bed so you can the turn 5 foot diamiter things :eek:

So you could make yourself some alternative platters for your new gramophone, experiment with different woods :) In fact you could probably knock up a wood version of your Magrotor (not sure how the magnets would work though).
