Infinitely Baffled

It's an often overlooked name, but Tandberg make beautiful hi-fi equipment. This receiver is a good example. 25 WPC, onboard phono stage and two other analogue inputs. Integral tuner, of course, so you don't need an input for radio. Though this tuner was the entry-level model in Tandberg's prestige 2000 series of receivers, it shares identical front end electronics with its more expensive brothers right up to the top of the range, so it has tremendous signal processing capabilities and works extremely well even with a "T" ribbon aerial. The amplifier section too sounds a good deal better than many dedicated amplifiers of the time. Tandberg design, layout and build-quality is second to none (in the opinion of the very experienced professional electrical engineer who looked this over for me some years ago).
It is in very good condition, with just a light scratch on the top surface and another on one of the cheek panels. Corners are crisp and square, not knocked-about, and there are no chunks or chips out of the veneer. All the lights work, including the indicator on the tuning index needle. Both meters work as they should. The fascia panel is unmarked. It's a really super piece of kit which I used to have in the kitchen running a pair of Mordaunt Short Festivals, and sounding wonderful; unfortunately I no longer can do that (moved house and it just doesn't work out in the new kitchen environment). £185 plus carriage.
