Afternoon All,
I’m Kev and have been a member of this forum for some time but haven’t posted…..until now!
I’ve had the Hifi bug for many a year. It all kicked off when I was a kid and my dad introduced me to music with his vinyl based system. The strange thing is that I couldn’t stand listening to most of his stuff at the time but as I lay in my teenage pit on a Sunday morning, which was when he’d routinely play his records, it was all subliminally going in. When I hear some of those tunes now it’s goose bump nostalgia time. Good ole Julie Andrews’ hills are alive & well :)
When I escaped the nest I started buying my own kit, and have been adding to it ever since. I’m fast approaching 60 now with retirement beckoning but still feel like a 20 year old in most respects.
Things really took a turn for the better with our latest home which is configured in such a way such that the lounge is three rooms away from the party wall. I remember thinking when we viewed it……..blimey this is the perfect room for my Hifi, the neighbours won’t hear a thing.

Systemdek IIX 900 turntable which I bought new in the 80’s.
Icon Audio Stereo 40 MK IIIM integrated valve amp which recently took the place of a Roksan Kandy K2 ss integrated that I still have.
Tannoy 10” Monitor Gold IIILZ’s.
Chord Mojo/Poly DAC Streamer hooked up to Qobuz. It’s also got all my CD’s on it as flac files.
I have always had a passion for progressive rock and rock in general but as I’ve aged I’ve found that my musical tastes have expanded to take in genres that I wouldn’t have had anything to do with when I was young. Hi Res Qobuz has been a revelation with the sheer amount of music I can now access but I still buy and rip cd’s.
Well that’s me for now. I’ll catch up with some of you soon no doubt.
