I’ve a pair of Golden Jacks -10dB attenuators that plug into the source rather than the amp

Would they work between my pre and power?

My pre-amp has 21db of gain so i am after a 10db attenuator to put between my pre out and power amp. Would it be safe to plug these into the input on my power amp?
