While trying to build up (rebuild ?) my basic electronics knowledge to that some of this stuff will make sense and i don't just follow blindly, I cam across this article:

http://sound.westhost.com/articles/capacitors.htm

It's very long, is "anti" subjectivist and/but makes some very interesting points throughout. Well worth a read. On small passage that stuck out at me was (my emphasis):

"Loudspeaker cables have been produced that have extraordinarily low inductance, despite the fact that they are quite long, and should (in theory) have high inductance as well. Not so. They have high capacitance (sufficient to give many amplifiers severe heartburn), but inductance is low. The closer the conductors are spaced and the greater the physical area, the greater the capacitance and the lower the inductance."

Now I'm wondering if I should run my speaker cables split apart a bit :)

Any other comments on the technicalities welcomed, but I want to avoid a subjectivist/objectivist slugfest please...
