This is a diagram from a 1060's radio containing Saba Greencone mid and tweeter.

I am rubbish at reading these things, so can anyone identify what crossovers they are using if any. at the very least I would expect the tweeter to have a high pass filter.

Looking at the circuit diagram there is no crossover. It looks as if the speaker labelled '401' handles the full range. The second speaker is connected in parallel with the first; and with the plug and socket arrangement shown, may simply be an option to add a second speaker (having an impedance of 5 Ohm) to the radio.

Are you sure the second speaker is a tweeter? Some photos of both speakers would help.

Interesting, thanks. Looks like they are running the mid (401) full range, which it does very well. Does the tweeter get any protection from low frequencies in this configuration?

No, the second speaker shown is simply generic. If you want to use a tweeter in it's place, I would fit a series capacitor to limit the low frequencies, and experiment with the capacitor value (start with one having a value of 4uF and go from there).
