View Full Version : Finally... My SP10 MK2
Finally setup the SP10 MKII on a Panzerholz plinth ( made by Phonomac ) with Fidelity Research FR64FX arm, Hana ML cartridge and Bigbottle Audio Spotfire cable.
Delighted with how it looks [emoji4]
Not managed a proper listen yet, that's reserved for tomorrow evening, photo 2 onwards documents the journey, which was relatively simple.
Bought the deck a couple of months ago and first switch on was last night to see if it worked, tense moment but all was good [emoji4]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200623/b4f1d18c6a4965afb8cc1cedd294baf8.jpg

Lovely looking piece of kit and should certainly sound as good as it looks.
Are the plinth feet supplied by independent manufacturer or are they supplied / made by Phonomac?

[emoji106]I think Angus buys them in as I seem to remember him saying he was waiting on delivery of them before he could post the Plinth to me.

Welcome to the club Mike :)
Thanks everyone, yeah I'm delighted with it, looks great, and a quick listen at low volume before work this morning sounded really good.

That looks lovely Mike, I often thought about going down the DD route myself, from what I understand it can offer some great benefits over belt or idler if you get it right. Be interested to here on your listening thoughts.
Looks great and can imagine it sounds wonderful.
I think a new plinth for my SP10 is next on my wish list and that one looks terrific.
Nice to see you have your new toy
Enjoy

I’m taking delivery of an SME 10 today and I now wants this!

You'll not go wrong with an SME mind you, I lusted after one for a while, then went completely off the look of them for some reason. Strange because I used to dislike the look of the SP10, how the mind works eh?

I've 40m of hit and miss fencing to paint (most likely twice) over next few days [emoji29]

I think a new plinth for my SP10 is next on my wish list and that one looks terrific.Angus makes a great job of these, this one is actually setup for taking a different arm in the same slot, in case I want to buy one of Angus's 1010 arms later. Ok there's one screw hole visible this way but you can't really see it unless you look directly down on the deck. Thought I might as well future proof the Plinth at much as I could without a separate armboard. Will I change the FR arm? Maybes aye, maybes no [emoji6]
Nice to see you have your new toy
Enjoy
IanI will Ian, it's sounding really good right now, very pleased with that and how it looks.

Thanks for that Mike, much appreciated.
I suspect that now you have it up and playing, you may not be paying much attention to our current lovely weather?. . . LOL.
I just managed to borrow a piece of kit that requires my 'full attention' and prevents me from getting burned by the sun.....:lol:

Looking very good MikeyThanks [emoji106][emoji4]
Lovely deck and a great looking system. Right up my street - SP10, nice valve amp and big Tannoys - I imagine it sounds just lovely.
