View Full Version : Wanted: Cartridge for Hadcock 228
Looking for a used cartridge that will be a good match for a late 80's / early 90's Hadcock 228 unipivot.
for use on 2nd deck so only looking to spend around the £50 mark something vintage with a couple of hundred hours left would be perfect.
I have an old Ortofon Quartz sat doing nothing since replaced with a DL 304 and now also a Hana as well.
You can have it for the postage cost if you want it.

Hi Nat,
If I send it tracked and signed there'll be change from a tenner... So call it £8 including shoe leather.
If you're happy with that, I can get it off to you tomorrow if you give me an address to send it to.

I'd just like to say thank you to Pete who very kindly dropped by today with a very nice Orotofon Quartz cartridge for me to use free of charge.
A credit to this forum and a gentleman.

My nephew has the Quasar..... Along with the Quartz and Quattro they were pretty nice sounding cartridges now rarely seen Ortofon legacy products.... Enjoy...
My nephew has the Quasar..... Along with the Quartz and Quattro they were pretty nice sounding cartridges now rarely seen Ortofon legacy products.... Enjoy...Yeah, when I first thought of passing it on, I couldn't find one anywhere on the bay to get an idea of a fair price...
Then I found the original invoice... £130 in 1991.! Though it has spent much of the intervening years in a cupboard waiting for my daughter to learn how to respect my vinyl.! [emoji849]
At which point I got the DL304 and the Quartz again became an onlooker...
I can't really claim it owes me anything and I'm glad for it to get some use again.

I stuck the Quartz onto my RB300 and even using the MC input of the Musical Fidelity VLPS which isn't it's strong point but even so it sounded very good indeed I even though I only managed one side.
