This was intended to be my last ever CD player as it uses the top-notch CD PRO2M transport mechanism from Philips, the one often used in CD juke boxes, so basically it's pretty bomb-proof. I believe this transport mechanism is still in production but even if this ceases Bel Canto keep stocks of spares for each CD player they build. The CD2 model itself is still part of Bel Canto's current range of products.

I purchased it brand new from Coherent Systems (Mr C) in April 2008. It is in mint condition having been used in a smoke-free and child-free environment throughout its life and comes complete with all packaging, instructions and remote control.
It was part of the AOS system at Scalford Hall both this year and last and was used as a transport in conjunction with the Sony DAS R1 DAC modified by Audiocom International (not included.)

Reason for sale: I've had the opportunity to purchase the venerable Acoustic Precision EIKOS player, the first one ever made although it has all the later mods and off-board PSUs. The sale of the CD2 is to fund this purchase and a Pioneer PD S-904 for spares.
The Bel Canto CD2 would cost £2700 new.
It is for sale at £1495
Here it is at Scalford Hall March 2009
