Yeah, sad to hear of his departure. One of the greats when snooker was in its heyday, during the late 70s to the end of the 80s... RIP Willie.

Yeah, used to like listening to him as well. When Ronnie was playing Willie would occasionally engage in a bit of banter with him from the comm s box. Sad day in the snooker world.

Yeah, sad, remember him well from back then. Was interesting reading about his life, the great player that didnt achieve those big titles and the gambling, things I didnt know. Reading that he bet and lost £38k on a game was a surprise and shock too.
A character for sure - RIP Willie.
Sorry to here of his passing, what was not to like about Willie. I believe he had a good life though.

Great player, I grew up watching snooker with my dad in the late 70s and early 80s and remember him well. I used to be allowed to stay up for pot black on a school night as well :)

He was the best snooker commentator ever as well as being a great player.

Indeed, very sad, not only was he a great player, he had a good sense of humour too, RIP Willie.
