I sent the seller some PM's re the condition , The seller then ended the auction because of the condition
Then out of the blue I get a PM asking if I want them for free :eek:

I collected said speakers today and as a bonus was also given a pair of Wharfdale Lazer 80 speakers also free :)

Never head of the Lazer 80 :scratch:

Will have a go at re doing the surrounds on the Mezzo's , All 4 need doing

The little meter on those Mezzos is quite good :) Not sure what they are rated at but 150Watts does seem optimistic...maybe as a combined pair lol.

LOL That could be correct, However, these are not bad sounding speakers... where these the series when Tannoy had some sort of say? I'm sure Tannoy were involved somewhere along the lines!

Looks like that pair have been re foamed with the foam the wrong side of the cone :scratch:

The originals were foam and you can see what happened to thoes

Should I stick with foam of go for rubber ? will rubber alter the sound ? :scratch:

You know the consequence's when you rubber breaks / brakes :eek:

Allen is going for the 'wall of sound'. But at the moment the wall is only 7' high and 10' wide. :D

Stick with foam. The driver will have been designed with a foam surround in mind. Change to rubber and you'll change the drivers' performance by quite a bit, which will affect the sound.

It's water based, so if it's a bit thick, just thin it with a little water. If you get a bit on anything you didn't want to, wipe it off with a damp ball of cotton wool. Easy peasy! :)

What a bar stuwart job getting the old foam off :doh:

Cut most off with a scalpel , then soaked the glue in acetone , you need to be quick as the acetone evaporates then the glue goes hard again :eek:

Then getting the remains off the paper cone , I found it best to pull it off between finger and thumb , supporting the cone with the other hand stopping any defection in the cone like :D did you see that i'm all modern like :ner:
