Who remembers Major electronics from the early seventies? They were a Japanese maker of superbly built equipment. Never familiar in the UK, but certainly on a par with Pioneer, Trio and Sansui etc for build quality. Their brand just vanished after a few years, shame.
This features one of their mid sized amps: https://insidehifi.blogspot.com/2012/11/major-as-8000.html

I saw the whole range in the flesh at a couple of shows and was very impressed with the looks and the quality of the finish. Rather reminiscent of the contemporary Pioneer gear.
Those were the days when amps had an "MIC" input, tone controls and a "Stereo Reverse" switch.
They can't have sold much because you never seem to see them come up on ebay or forums. Or they were just so good no-one ever moves them on!
