A pair of these have just popped up on a local classified page for £200 ono. From the photos they appear clean and tidy with no damage. I wondered if they would be worth picking up?

Also, is the £200 asking price considered decent?

I have owned a few sets of MA speakers over the years but nothing from this era before. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

I bought my old pair for about £100 but I've seen them go for £120. You would be better off with the MA PMC 705 model that has been advertised recently on here.

Thanks for the heads up, I have sent the seller a PM. Any reason you say the 705 is better than the 14?

It was a later model and a higher range than the old Monitor ones. The latter are very musical though for the money it has to be said.

After your post I did a few Google searches but couldn’t find much so contacted Monitor Audio and they sent me a pdf of their sales brochure with the specs in.

I couldn’t really afford to miss them at that price and Mike was great answering all of my questions. Thanks for giving me the heads up on them.

An Arcam A32 to better power my Amphion Krypton speakers until I find something long term that suits them.
