I'm mighty bored today so decided to make myself some new interconnectors, nothing like a bit of Saturday afternoon soldering!

I hope the black is dielectric and not a semiconductor noise reducing sheath which might shunt a bit.

Looks like it to me, though it doesn't seem to be touching the centre pin.

It’s wired correctly, I used oyaide SS47 solder, Neutrik RCA connectors and Van Damme Pro classic XKE cable, I like the cable as it sounds good and is nice and flexible

There's no question it's wired correctly.
Some of the coax uses a semi conducting very thin black layer around the inner conductor.

Looking end on at the inner conductor is the cable insulation clear with a thin black covering?
if so try to strip off just the black layer so it has no possibility of making contact with the centre pin.

I've tested them and they sound great, the black inner sheath i've deliberately cut a little short so that it can't touch the centre pin.

After removal, just to be safe I remove any traces with meths and a toothbrush, which also removes any flux remnants.

Great idea, making your own I/C’s.
I decided to spray my Omen speakers as I didn’t care for the Sangria red colour and made a cover for my Separo which is a work in progress as the stock blue colour is an acquired taste!!
