Good Afternoon

Following me removing the front grills on my Icon Audio speakers I have noticed that the speaker cone movement (in and out) is different when playing an album on my turntable and playing the same album through my Raspberry Pi.
Basically you can see the cones moving in and out when an lp is played on the turntable but when that same album is played digitally through the Raspberry Pi there is no such movement.
Is this correct and normal behaviour ?

Thanks Guys

It's probably the turntable feeding low frequencies from the cartridge which could be too compliant for the arm.

Thanks for your answer Walpurgis

So it shouldn't be doing that then ?
Any ideas how i fix it ?

Noticeable cone movement during the playing of records will not necessarily be a problem. You could try a phono stage with a rumble filter or a cartridge with lower compliance. However, if you are not hearing anything untoward, I'd not worry too much.

Thanks for the reassurance Walpurgis
I haven't noticed anything amiss soundwise but just wondered if something wasn;t right
Thanks Again

I had that so badly a few years ago that the low frequency modulated the mid enough to hear altered tone as the cone moved. (doppler)
