My unfinished project may mean an opportunity for someone. The TD-124 was painted gloss black over 35 years ago (by me) and still looks pretty good, the odd small mark here and there but could be touched in if you have the skill. Following personal advice from the late Tom Fletcher I removed the top platter and magnet from the eddy brake and ran with a variable speed power supply (a Dais Horizon). The top platter and magnet have since disappeared but I have purchased a replacement magnet assembly that will be included in the sale so it will be a fully working unit (runs too fast at the moment). It does not come with a top platter though. Plinth is really scruffy and just there to support the deck for transport really, no value.

Some pictures of the platter show it with a mu-metal mat, great to block magnetic noise from reaching low output MC carts.

I have placed the EMT on the arm board of the Thorens but it is not fixed. The plan was to use a polished washer to hide the mounting holes from the previous arm - an Omega Point from Tom Fletcher, which I think from memory may be the same mounting as Linn?

The EMT cartridge has the diamond intact and it looks good, but I haven’t tested it.

Really struggling to price this - welcome any guidance - thinking £500 for deck and £200 for arm?

Interesting item Dave. I wouldn't like to price it, but I have a feeling it won't be here long. :)

Sorry - I put the wrong name on the title and description - it is of course an EMI arm not an EMT. Apologies for the mistake

£500 for the deck would have been a real bargain!

About 10 years ago I auctioned one of those EMI arms via eBay and it went to Japan for well over £500.00
