View Full Version : Lentek pre/power sockets HELP

Think I made a boo boo ! I am about to try the lentek as a pre to my quad 909 , I went and pulled the rca jumper thingys off and I don’t know how they were connected!! Left to left or left to right ?
And I presume I’m supposed to connect the pre out to the quad ? Why is there a power amp in ?

They only fit one way Andy; you're making a bridge between the preamp and the power amp sections. How you show it is correct.

You can use the Lentek as a pre amp or a power amp. I think you want pre-out from the Lentek, but I am not certain, it is such a while since I tried it.

But if using it as a preamp do I need to put a jumper in the power amp RCA’s ?

No. You are taking away the link between the pre and power so the latter will not be operating .

I think so but as I said, I'm not certain of the connection to a power amp.

If i was connecting a pre to a power amp, that's all I would have.

Power mate , I know it’s passive and only the quad is in effect driving the speakers but sure it had a lot more Oomph which I don’t need , also the quads power switch is on the back so it means a lot of hassle to switch it on and off as I have it my Hifi in the tv cabinet , before I could reach behind it from the front but with the lentek tank I had no room to do so .
Embarrassingly so the quad is now up for sale .
