I'm a retired teacher of English and other subjects, and bought my first 'real' hifi outfit in 1964; a Lenco deck with Jason valve amp. and Pye speakers.

I now have: NAIM 552 plus 135s into
PROAC RESPONSE 4 speakers, with
Michell Orbe/SME5/Lyra Helikon into Naim Prefix,
Meridian G08 CDP and
Naim 01 tuner, all individually on separate (10mm) spurs to dedicated consumer unit (except turntable)

I grow my own veggies, am married, have a fairly catholic taste in music, but which tends to be predominately classical; am interested in finance and current affairs. I play table-tennis and badminton, with the occasional swim at the local Olympic-sized pool.

Hi Mike, nice to meet you sir.

Whereabouts in Norwich are you?

I grew up on Unthank Road, then moved to Hellesdon (Berrington Road), then moved to Ashwellthorpe and then Tacolneston. Went to Wymondham High School in the late 80s.

Now however I dwell in 'that London' - or near enough. :)

Welcome welcome welcome.

Well, well! I'm in Thorpe St.Andrew. Moved here 6 1/2 years ago from Ramsgate. Briefly taught at Thorpe High before throwing in the towel.
Best wishes,

Mike Reed

Well, well! I'm in Thorpe St.Andrew...

NO WAY! My Dad lives on Pound Lane at the Sainsbury's end!

Small world. :)

If your dad lives in the 60s bungalows or houses either side or Eastern Road (i.e. at the Sainsbury's end) I'm 100 metres away (give or take....) on his side, as the Dussindale complex is on the opposite side.

You must know the VERY steep hill of Eastern Crescent; I live on this, near the bottom, in the only detatched HOUSE.

Imagine! (your dad's not into serious music reproduction, by any chance?)

Regards,

Mike Reed

He lives in the little close bit at the bottom of Pound Lane.

Unfortunately he's not into serious music reproduction at all, it's me at the start of the chain in my family. :)
