View Full Version : Anyone recommend good quality replacement speaker cloth?
Doing a bit of Lockdown DIY on my speakers, looking for acoustically transparent speaker cloth in white.
(RAL 9010 colour - pure white)
Any speaker DIY'ers out there with first hand knowledge of the best to get?
Thanks. :)
I had mine from Radiosilks as recommended by Tannoy see http://www.radiosilks.co.uk/
There are plenty of 'acoustically transparent' speaker cloths available on Amazon.
The problem is, to make the cloth acoustically transparent it needs to have a fairly loose weave, so won't necessarily be optically opaque. If you can paint the baffle board white that will help, but I think the dark coloured driver cones might still show.
Not fussed about that, so all good.
Dont use the front covers anyway, my speakers have top panels that pop off (for the midrange horn) and cant be seen from the top of the speaker from seating position.
But hadn't thought of the white on black thing, happily not an issue.
thanks.
