Can anybody recommend a reasonably priced, good quality plinth for a 401; I'm happy for it to be used or new.
I've always used slate before, but I am also open to solid wood or composites etc.
Thanks for your help / suggestions.

Moldovan plinths on eBay. He charges 60-70% less than anyone in the UK and produces work just as good. I have a Rose wood veneer 301 plinth with piano gloss finish, it cost less than £300 delivered.

Thanks Andrew,
Yes, I've been in touch with Valeria, but he hasn't responded. To be expected in these difficult times I guess.

I think that's Carl Ellis? He did my Lenco Plinth, very very good. I thought he had cancer and was only working through his current orders?
I’m a big fan of Russ Collinson at Layers of beauty, he’s more mid price I’d say but his work is impeccable and he’s a top fella and he will make you anything you want if you can visualise it.
He’s just made me this beauty with Panzerholz in the core and armboards , isolated armboards , kewasinga veneer and piano gloss.

Karl, that looks spectacular! If it sounds as good as it looks you're onto a winner.

Thanks Karl, but I've used Russ before and won't go back.
Oh no! Sounds like you had a bad experience?

Let's leave it at not great.
That’s a shame mate. Hopefully not the workmanship? The two he’s made me have been nothing short of spectacular and he’s been on the email daily with correspondance.
Funny how we get such different experiences.
Have you looked at Dasplinth?

I need my mine plinthed too, this is the cheapest from the guy in Moldova, the dimensions are given as 400,435,90, i'm not sure whether its 400 across or top to bottom, if across then its too narrow for my 401 + Jelco 750, barely fit it all on.

This is the sort of thing I will be going for.

He know's what he's doing, he'd have negative feedback otherwise from other ebayers.

Who makes that? Looks lovely. I'm starting off with a cheapy ply plinth first to see whether plinths really do make that much difference, currently use a lead line SME old type.

The Moldovan guy isn't taking orders at present, says shipping is too slow.
Look no further than a slate plinth see https://www.slateage.com/ John Rawlinson is the man.
